Clarke Booms 3 Homers Wednesday, April 5th , 2023 Lowndes High School third baseman Nick Clarke blasted three homers at Etowah Baseball Field in the 17-12 Vikings victory over the Etowah High School Eagles. For the game, Nick Clarke scored 3 times and knocked in 4 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Clarke when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 3-for-4, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Clarke told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Nick Clarke hit a solo-shot off Josh Gilchrist in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Josh Gilchrist in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, walked in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Tony Smith in the 9th. This season, Clarke has 9 home runs and a .321 batting average. |
