Nakamura Pounds 3 HR Thursday, March 27th , 2025 Lubbock Cooper High School Pirates first baseman Chris Nakamura had a magnificent game against the Grapevine High School Mustangs, rocketing three balls out of Lubbock Cooper High School Stadium to help the Pirates win, 10-8. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Nakamura went 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Lubbock Cooper High School manager Andres Teran said later. "Seems like Chris found his home run stroke today." Chris Nakamura hit a solo-shot off Josh Brady in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Josh Brady in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Angelo Mares in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. For the season, Nakamura is batting .286 with 10 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 6 times and batted in 11. |
