Saturday, April 24th , 2021
Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Buccaneers-Cavaliers game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball.
Berkeley Prep High School third baseman Tyler Humes thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Berkeley Prep High School to a win, 7-3, over Lake Travis High School.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Humes said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run."
Humes, who is tied for 7th in the HSBL in hits with 47, was 4-for-4 on the day with 3 RBI.
Tyler Humes hit a solo-shot off Keegan Olsen in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tim Dix in the 5th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Mark Grassi in the 8th.
In his 2021 season totals, Humes has 9 home runs, .367 BA, .391 OBP, 22 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
