Clarke Homers 3 Times Against Notre Dame High School Monday, March 24th , 2025 His swing was a thing of beauty. Three times Nick Clarke swung the bat and three times he delivered a home run. It was an awesome sight to behold at Lowndes High School Baseball Stadium, but to no avail, for as good as he was, the Notre Dame High School Knights were better. The Lowndes High School Vikings couldn't capitalize on the big game from Clarke and dropped the contest, 19-11. The mood in the Vikings clubhouse afterward was subdued, with several players remarking that they had allowed the Knights to spoil the day for Clarke. "Some of the boys are beating themselves up about it," Lowndes High School manager Sean Avery said. "They know we win as a team and lose as a team, but it's hard to really put that idea into practice on a day when one of you was playing on such an obviously higher level." In addition to the homers, Clarke collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," the Lowndes High School shortstop told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow I could just pop the same pitches up and go 0-for-3." Nick Clarke hit a solo-shot off Ryan Ingram in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Bobby Goss in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Dustin Goldsmith in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. |
