Nettles Gone for Season in Pope High School Saturday, April 17th , 2021 When Matt Nettles was hurt against the Cardinal Gibbons High School Chiefs, the Pope High School Greyhounds were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 17-year-old reliever suffered a torn labrum throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Nettles would miss 8 months of the season. To this point in the season, Nettles has rung up 1 save in 7 relief appearances. He has also crafted a 1.74 ERA, no wins and 1 loss and 12 strikeouts in 10.1 innings. |
