John Brown Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year
Saturday, April 17th , 2021
The doctors have spoken and John Brown of the Huntington Beach High School Oilers didn't like what he heard. The 16-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Brown sustained his season-ending injury during the Miami Christian High School Victors game yesterday at Miami Christian High School Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Huntington Beach High School medical staff reported Brown had a fractured elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 months.
During this season, he has made 10 relief appearances, earning a 2-1 record with no saves. In 11.1 innings Brown has struck out 8 with a 2.38 ERA.
