Patrick Heil Drills 3 HR in One Game
Thursday, March 30th , 2023
Calvary Christian High School Warriors second baseman Patrick Heil almost did it all. He sent three shots out of the ballpark, scored 3 times and drove in 4 runs and had 3 hits in 4 at-bats.
The one thing he could not do, however, was lead the Warriors to victory. The Lake Travis High School Cavaliers escaped with the win, 8-6, despite being on the receiving end of the barrage from Heil.
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't like hitting three homers, but losing takes a little glitter off the game," he admitted to BNN writers after the game.
Patrick Heil hit a solo-shot off Alex Hernandez in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Mike Cornelius in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Bobby Williams in the 9th.
"When someone hits three home runs, you put yourself in a tough position to win," said Calvary Christian High School manager C.J. Sidney. "We were lucky to win this one. I don't think it matters how hard you throw, especially in the ABA High School. If you leave a ball out over the plate to good ABA High School hitters, if they get a bead on you and you leave it over the middle, they're probably going to take a good hack at it."
During the current season Heil is batting at a .372 clip with 7 home runs and 20 RBIs. He has played in 10 games and scored 15 times.
