Hat Trick of Home Runs for Sheridan
Sunday, May 3rd , 2020
Sometimes it just isn't enough.
Nate Sheridan had an outstanding day at Cypress Athletic Facilities for the Cypress High School Centurions today, ripping three home runs. Nonetheless, the Centurions fell to the Marcus High School Marauders, 7-5.
Sheridan had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 16-year-old first baseman banged out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 times and batted in 4 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Centurions were not able to hold off the Marauders.
"Baseball is a funny game," Sheridan said in the post-game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out."
Nate Sheridan struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Cameron Spruill in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Zach Hopkins in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Nate Nelson in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
In 38 games this season Sheridan is batting .307 with 39 hits and 13 home runs. He has scored 32 runs and driven in 38.
