Tatum 5-for-5 for Grenada High School Sunday, April 12th , 2026 Matadors right fielder Jeff Tatum had his way with Grapevine High School pitching at Valiants Field and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Mustangs ruined his great day by toppling the Matadors, 4-3. "I had a great day, but you've got to give Grapevine High School credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits." "Oh, we noticed what Tatum did today," Mustangs skipper Paul Mitchell said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him." Jeff Tatum singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Eddie Johnson in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Tatum is batting .247 this year with 5 home runs, 10 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has 21 hits in 85 at-bats. |
