Smashing Success: Clarke Wallops 3 HR Monday, May 2nd , 2022 Lowndes High School first baseman Nick Clarke led the Vikings to a triumph, 11-0, over the Windermere High School Wolverines, crushing three home runs. "He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Lowndes High School skipper Sean Avery. Indeed, Clarke put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 4 runs and 5 RBIs. "I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Clarke said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em." Nick Clarke hit a two-run home run off Jason Riley in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Keith Bush in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Steve Ewing in the 9th. At the moment, Clarke is hitting .264 with 13 home runs and 34 RBIs. He has played in 36 games and scored 32 times. |
