Monday, May 2nd , 2022
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Taylor Dickerson of the Parkview High School Panthers had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate in his team's 8-2 win over the Wesleyan High School Wolves at Hugh Buchanan Field.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 14-year-old left fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Taylor Dickerson hit a solo-shot off Mike Gentry in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Mike Gentry in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
For the year, Dickerson is batting .317 with 45 hits and 14 home runs. He has scored 34 times and driven in 30.
