The Buccaneers reliever suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow during a game against the Pace High School Patriots and will be out for at least 7 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season. This season, Barfield has logged 17 relief appearances, 25.1 IP, 28 strikeouts, and a 3.55 ERA.
