Andy Villarrel Strokes 3 Home Runs Thursday, March 21st , 2024 Lake Travis High School Cavaliers right fielder Andy Villarrel sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Wesleyan High School Wolves, Villarrel told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Villarrel pushed the Cavaliers past the Wolves, 9-7. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Villarrel told reporters after the game. Andy Villarrel hit a solo-shot off Trevor Maynard in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Trevor Maynard in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Regis Shapiro in the 5th and singled in the 7th. |
