Matison Blisters Cypress High School Thursday, March 21st , 2024 It was a hits blitz for Randy Matison at Berkeley Baseball Complex. The Berkeley Prep High School Buccaneers first baseman tore into the Cypress High School Centurions for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Centurions swept past the Buccaneers, 10-7, to ruin Matison's day. "We weren't locating our pitches well," Berkeley Prep High School manager Travis Hamilton explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Randy was nice but it wasn't enough." Randy Matison walked in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Billy Cumberland in the 9th. |
