Jaden Butts has worked his way into contention for a rotation spot Thursday, March 21st , 2024 This offseason, Jaden Butts focused on improving his stamina to potentially make the jump from reliever to starter. Jaden Butts worked with the team’s strength coaches to build endurance, incorporating longer training sessions and conditioning drills aimed at increasing his ability to pitch deeper into games. In addition to physical conditioning, he refined his mechanics to maintain his velocity and effectiveness for extended innings. He also adjusted his bullpen sessions to simulate the demands of a starting role, throwing more pitches and focusing on pacing himself throughout. While he started off slow, by the end of the training he was able to sustain a higher intent behind his pitches for much longer. The decision to shift to a starting role will ultimately be up to the coaching staff, but Jaden Butts’s increased stamina and durability have put him firmly in the conversation. And while his role for the season is still to be determined, Jaden Butts is positioning himself well for the future and offers the Stockdale High School Mustangs far more rotational depth. |
