Matison Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games
Saturday, April 4th , 2026
Win or lose, Randy Matison just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games.
The Berkeley Prep High School Buccaneers first baseman went 1-for-3, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 7-4, by the Pope High School Greyhounds at Berkeley Baseball Complex.
"It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Randy Matison flied out in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Mike Barker in the 5th and struck out in the 7th.
Matison is currently hitting at a .468 pace with 14 home runs, 31 RBIs and has scored 25 times.
