Cortes Belts 3 HR Against Stockdale High School Monday, April 27th , 2020 Fans seated in the bleacher section at Stockdale High School Baseball Field were taking cover all day long as Ramon Cortes zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power. The big game from the Mount Paran Christian High School catcher helped the Eagles take the victory, 18-2, over the Stockdale High School Mustangs. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 3 runs. Ramon Cortes hit a three-run home run off Tyler Bourassa in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Tyler Bourassa in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, walked in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th. So far on the season Cortes is hitting .163 with 4 home runs, 7 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He has 7 hits and played in 22 games. |
