Tatum Pops 3 Out of the Park Against Mustangs Wednesday, April 1st , 2026 Jeff Tatum was in a home run mode at Parrots Grounds. The Grenada High School right fielder massacred Mustangs pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. Stockdale High School won the ballgame, 9-7, despite the three homers. "I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose." Nonetheless, Tatum will now have a place in the league record book. "I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today." Jeff Tatum hit a two-run home run off Matt Thomas in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Matt Thomas in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Toby Hodges in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. Looking at his season stats, Tatum has compiled a .245 batting average and a .321 on-base percentage, while hitting 4 home runs and driving in 9 runs. |
