Thorsen Parks 3 HR in the Seats Sunday, April 24th , 2022 Jesuit High School Tigers third baseman Mike Thorsen sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Buford High School Wolves, Thorsen told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Thorsen pushed the Tigers past the Wolves, 13-5. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Thorsen told reporters after the game. Mike Thorsen hit a solo-shot off Tony Magallon in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Tony Magallon in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jeff Chestnut in the 8th. This year, Thorsen is hitting .388 with 47 hits, 13 home runs, 23 RBIs and has scored 25 runs. |
