Johnson Goes on Rampage Against Buccaneers
Thursday, April 21st , 2022
Nate Johnson of the Matadors was unstoppable in his team's 18-2 victory over the Allatoona High School Buccaneers at Buccaneer Baseball Field. He battered them for 5 hits in 7 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Grenada High School catcher after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-7 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."
Nate Johnson hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Rick Wallace in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Brad Chudik in the 8th, flied out in the 8th and hit a three-run double in the 9th.
Johnson is hitting at a .311 mark this season. His stats show 7 home runs, 26 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has played 23 games for the Matadors.
