Maynor Torches Oilers for 5 Hits
Sunday, March 29th , 2026
After his 5-hit effort at Boerne ISD Sports Complex was tarnished by Boerne High School's 16-13 loss to the Huntington Beach High School Oilers, left fielder Chris Maynor told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 17-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Oilers.

"His swing is getting there," said Greyhounds skipper Aaron Barger after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Chris did that to perfection and we wasted it."

Chris Maynor hit a solo-shot off Marquise Stotts in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.

This year, Maynor has socked 13 hits in 40 at-bats for a .325 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .426 pace and his totals also include 7 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
