3 Roundtrippers for Carlson
Friday, March 27th , 2026
Harlem High School center fielder Kevin Carlson saw a fantastic day go to waste at St. Johns Country Day High School Stadium as the Bulldogs lost, 11-10, despite a trio of home runs from the youngster.
"It seems kinda odd, you know?" a somewhat dejected Carlson said after his club's defeat. "I mean, hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right? I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win."
The 15-year-old tallied three homers in a 4-for-4 day, and added 5 RBIs and 3 scored.
"That guy really had a game, didn't he?" said St. Johns Country Day High School manager Alec Johnson. "Luckily we were able to shut down the rest of the team. We are feeling good about getting out of here with the win."
Kevin Carlson hit a two-run home run off Matt Bradford in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Matt Bradford in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Angel Sanchez in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
In his season totals Carlson has 5 home runs and a .370 batting average.
