Parkview High School Halts Martin's Hitting Steak
Thursday, March 26th , 2026
Chiles High School center fielder Joe Martin went 0-for-3 in Chiles High School's 4-3 triumph over the Parkview High School Panthers, snapping his 24-game hitting streak.
Martin spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later."
"I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though."
When Martin made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending.
"There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Panthers manager Manuel Vargas said of Martin's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."
At the moment, Martin is hitting .348 with 1 home run and 5 RBIs. He has played in 6 games and scored 8 times.
