GONE! GONE! GONE! 3 HRs for Roberts Sunday, March 22nd , 2026 Jamal Roberts was in a home run mode at Dreamfield. The Huntington Beach High School second baseman massacred Trojans pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. North Hall High School won the ballgame, 11-7, despite the three homers. "I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose." Nonetheless, Roberts will now have a place in the league record book. "I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today." Jamal Roberts hit a two-run home run off Shamar Lyles in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Shamar Lyles in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Efrain Valencia in the 8th. |
