John Wesson Injured, Out for Season
Monday, April 12th , 2021
The doctors have spoken and John Wesson of the Jesuit High School Tigers didn't like what he heard. The 14-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Wesson sustained his season-ending injury during the Stoneman Douglas High School Eagles game yesterday at Anthony Rizzo Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Jesuit High School medical staff reported Wesson had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4-5 months.
For the season, Wesson has made 8 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 2-0 won-lost mark and a 5.40 ERA. In pitching 10 innings, he has totaled 10 strikeouts and 4 walks.
