3 Bombs for Kyle Savas Saturday, March 25th , 2023 Cypress High School Centurions second baseman Kyle Savas put on a dazzling display of power at Doral Academy Baseball Complex against the Doral Academy Firebirds. In the 16-4 Centurions victory, Savas penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Doral Academy manager Ryan Stratton said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 15-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Savas said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Kyle Savas hit a solo-shot off Pat Prout in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Pat Prout in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Chad Elder in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and walked in the 9th. So far this season, Savas has put up a .478 batting average with 11 hits, 5 home runs and 9 RBIs. |
