O'Brien Blasts 3 into Bleachers Friday, March 24th , 2023 Casey O'Brien went on an explosive hitting spree against the Pope High School Greyhounds at Villa Park High School Field, launching a trio of blasts to help the Villa Park High School Spartans win, 10-3. The first baseman finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 6 RBI. "It was just one of those days," O'Brien said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Pope High School skipper Miguel Frausto said O'Brien was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Casey O'Brien struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Tristan Jones in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Mark Williams in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Justin Spolar in the 8th. |
