Big Day with Bat: Poole 5-for-5 Monday, April 11th , 2022 It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Darius Poole of the Calvary Christian High School Warriors. The Calvary Christian High School second baseman gave it his all and dominated Houston County High School Bears pitching at Victory Field, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Bears going home the winner, 14-9. "There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Poole said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead." Darius Poole doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Thus far this season in 19 games, Poole is batting .338 with no home runs, 7 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 27 hits in 80 at-bats. |
