Hit Streak Now at 20 for Mendez Saturday, April 11th , 2020 Leo Mendez's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Spring Hill High School first baseman smacked 3 hits against the Chiles High School Timberwolves in today's game at Spring Hill High School Baseball Complex, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Panthers drop the game, 4-1. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Leo Mendez grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season Mendez is batting at a .530 clip with 8 home runs and 21 RBIs. |
