Allen Belts 3 HR for Spartans Saturday, April 9th , 2022 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Palo Alto High School Vikings. St. Johns Country Day High School third baseman Jason Allen tripled up on the home runs to propel the Spartans to a win, 10-1, at St. Johns Country Day High School Stadium. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Palo Alto High School manager Larry Bears said. "Allen hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Allen collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Jason Allen hit a solo-shot off Xavier Scott in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Xavier Scott in the 2nd, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Tom Luther in the 6th and singled in the 8th. For the year, Allen is batting .315 with 7 home runs. |
