Miklavcic Connects for 3 Homers for Mustangs Saturday, April 9th , 2022 Sometimes it just isn't enough. Rich Miklavcic had an outstanding day at Hugh Buchanan Field for the Grapevine High School Mustangs, ripping three home runs. Nonetheless, the Mustangs fell to the Parkview High School Panthers, 15-4. Miklavcic had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 15-year-old left fielder banged out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 times and batted in 4 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Mustangs were not able to hold off the Panthers. "Baseball is a funny game," Miklavcic said in the post-game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out." Rich Miklavcic hit a two-run home run off Jay Altieri in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jay Altieri in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tony Lozada in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. Thus far this year, Miklavcic is hitting .328 with 8 home runs, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored. |
