Cooper Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Thursday, April 9th , 2020 Ricky Cooper exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Reagan High School Stadium. The Doral Academy second baseman had a field day in the 12-10 triumph over the Reagan High School Rattlers, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Cooper must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Ricky Cooper singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Cooper is swinging at a .397 pace on the year with 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has played in 18 games. |
