Gonzales Smashes 3 HR Friday, April 1st , 2022 In a powerful performance that left the fans at Gerald McQuiag Field buzzing, Boerne High School Greyhounds left fielder Jorge Gonzales blasted a trio of home runs en route to a win, 9-5, over the Buford High School Wolves. "Everything was clicking," Gonzales told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them." Gonzales shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Greyhounds manager Aaron Barger said. "Jorge played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game." Jorge Gonzales hit a solo-shot off Marc Daniels in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Marc Daniels in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Roman Pilkington in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. For the year, Gonzales is batting .256 with 11 hits and 5 home runs. He has scored 9 times and driven in 11. |
