Ellerbrock Shows Off, Hits for Cycle Monday, March 30th , 2020 Getting 5 hits is a good day by any measure, but when those include a single, double, triple and a home run -- that's something special. Jake Ellerbrock's day was a special one. The first baseman hit for the cycle to spark the St. Johns Country Day High School Spartans to a 14-7 victory over the Stockdale High School Mustangs at Stockdale High School Baseball Field today. St. Johns Country Day High School manager Alec Johnson said he thought the whole lineup looked good in batting practice, but had not been expecting anything extraordinary from Ellerbrock in particular. "Jake caught me by surprise today," the skipper said. "He looked good before the game, but man, he looked unbelievable during it." For the day, Ellerbrock finished with 7 RBI and 2 runs scored to go with his 5 hits. Jake Ellerbrock hit a solo-shot off Brett Wisdom in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th and hit a three-run double in the 8th. This season Ellerbrock has hit 3 home runs and posted a .297 batting average. |
