Sikes Stretches Hit String to 20 Wednesday, March 31st , 2021 Matt Sikes has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 17-year-old Villa Park High School Spartans second baseman extended his streak to 20 games, going 2-for-4 as Villa Park High School got the best of the Reagan High School Rattlers at Reagan High School Stadium, 6-3. "Matt has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Spartans manager Jim Loring said. Matt Sikes struck out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jeff O'Brien in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. For the year, Sikes has hit .368 with 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and scored 8 runs. |
