Saturday, March 27th , 2021
In a powerful performance that left the fans at Rockwall-Heath High School Baseball Field buzzing, Rockwall-Heath High School Hawks second baseman Drew Riggi blasted a trio of home runs en route to a win, 9-5, over the Tomball High School Cougars.
"Everything was clicking," Riggi told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them."
Riggi shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Hawks manager Walt Carrington said. "Drew played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game."
Drew Riggi hit a solo-shot off Kevin Hawkins in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Brendan Singer in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Tony Saez in the 8th.
Currently Riggi is hitting .471 and has collected 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 10 times, while playing in 7 games.
