Red Devils Mitchell Raps 3 Homers Friday, March 22nd , 2019 Mike Mitchell brutalized the De La Salle High School Spartans pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 7-4 victory at Koch Baseball Diamond. The Loganville High School Red Devils left fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Mike Mitchell today," Spartans manager Shane Stevens said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Mike Mitchell grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Rick Hall in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Alex Arredondo in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Pedro Tello in the 9th. |
