Johnson Hit String Snapped at 23
Sunday, March 27th , 2022
It was a doubly miserable day for Jeff Johnson of the North Hall High School Trojans, as he saw his 23-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 4-3, to the Parkview High School Panthers at Hugh Buchanan Field. The 15-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Panthers.
"Anyone on a 23-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Parkview High School manager Wade Lucas said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."
So far this season, Johnson has 1 home run and a .333 batting average.
