Windermere High School Wins Round 1 Tuesday, May 14th , 2024 The Windermere High School Wolverines didn't hold back their excitement after beating the Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors in the Round 1 tonight. Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 7-3 win moving the club on to the Round 2, clinching a 4-2 series win in front of the Stampede Park crowd. "This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a Round 3, so it's an important step," said Ray Bret as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on." Bret was named series MVP, as he hit .346 with a .452 on-base percentage. He had 6 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 9 runs. On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Conquerors sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Windermere High School celebrate. The Windermere High School Wolverines will play against the Etiwanda High School Eagles in the next round. Etiwanda High School won their series against the Etowah High School Eagles 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
