Rau Jacks 3 into the Stands Saturday, May 4th , 2024 North Oconee High School Titans first baseman J.J. Rau sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Miami Christian High School Victors, Rau told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Rau pushed the Titans past the Victors, 6-5. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Rau told reporters after the game. J.J. Rau hit a two-run home run off Jim Beaber in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Beaber in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Russell Pease in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. Rau is hitting .383 this year with 35 home runs and 54 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .459, 18 walks and scored 50 times. |
