Wesleyan High School Wolves left fielder Jake Futrell put on a dazzling display of power at Woodstock High School Stadium against the Woodstock High School Wolverines. In the 6-1 Wolves victory, Futrell penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.

"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Woodstock High School manager David Suarez said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."

Along with his three home runs, the 17-year-old had 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Futrell said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."

Jake Futrell hit a solo-shot off Jason Vogel in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jason Vogel in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jason Vogel in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.

In 30 games Futrell is hitting .324 this season with 22 hits, 10 home runs, 15 RBIs, 6 walks, .378 OBP and has scored 14 runs.
