Super Swinger -- Nelson Slams 6 Hits Friday, May 3rd , 2024 Troy Nelson was at the head of a JSerra Catholic High School hit parade at Lake Brantley High School Baseball Field. The third baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 6 hits, sparking the Lions to a nice 12-4 victory over the Lake Brantley High School Patriots. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Nelson told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Patriots skipper Elijah Johnson said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Troy Nelson singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Cameron Joseph in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off James Matos in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off John Collins in the 9th. So far this season, Nelson is hitting .327 with 13 home runs. |
