That's exactly what Mario Ruiz did at Clayton Valley High School Stadium, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 12-4. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Ruiz said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Clayton Valley Charter High School Eagles first baseman blistered the Doral Academy Firebirds for 3 hits, batted in 7 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Doral Academy manager Ryan Stratton said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Mario Ruiz grounded out in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Chris Rotman in the 3rd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Casey Berger in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jose Hernandez in the 8th. To date this year, Ruiz is batting .338 with 14 home runs. |
