Premier Player Named by ABA High School

At the age of 18, Jarrod Wahlert of the Cypress High School Centurions could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2025 was good enough to win the first baseman the ABA High School Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .424 batting average this year, as well as a .472 on-base percentage. He played 40 games and racked up 70 hits, 10 doubles, no triples, 25 home runs, 51 RBIs and 44 runs scored.
He received 24 first place votes out of a possible 64. Adam Hicks of the Etiwanda High School Eagles finished second in voting with 19 first place votes, while Avery Williams of the Georgetown High School Eagles finished third with 11 first place votes.
