Etiwanda High School Wins Round 1 Wednesday, May 14th , 2025 The Etiwanda High School Eagles said they felt the Round 1 with the North Cobb Christian High School Eagles would go the distance. But it didn't end up being that difficult, as Etiwanda High School advanced to the Round 2 with a 4-2 score, to clinch the series 4-1 at Etiwanda High School Stadium. "Whether it goes to the final game or not, we faced a good team and got the job done. It's a big momentum boost for us," said Mike Shumaker, who was named series MVP. "We're all feeling good about our chances to win the Round 3." For the series, Shumaker hit .333 with a .400 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Etiwanda High School Eagles will play against the Georgetown High School Eagles in the next round. Georgetown High School won their series against the Lake Travis High School Cavaliers 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
