3-HR Binge for Stoppel Against Ray High School

Steve Stoppel was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 6-1 Buchanan High School Bears triumph at Ray High School Stadium.
The 16-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Bears past the Ray High School Texans.
"One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Stoppel told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate."
The center fielder went 5-for-5, rung up 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day.
Steve Stoppel singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Josh Spires in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Josh Spires in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jon Godwin in the 9th.
Stoppel is hitting .366 so far this season with 42 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has 48 hits including 22 home runs, 16 walks and .439 OBP.
