Walker Swats 3 HR Against Saint Francis High School Wednesday, April 30th , 2025 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Mike Walker did at River Cats Grounds, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 7-6. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Walker said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Cartersville High School Hurricanes first baseman blistered the Saint Francis High School Lancers for 3 hits, batted in 6 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Saint Francis High School manager Gary Cawthorne said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Mike Walker grounded out in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Tony de Santiago in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Frank Cabrera in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Mark Achord in the 9th. Walker has collected 54 hits for the Hurricanes this year, 19 of them home runs. He has also netted 42 RBIs and scored 33 runs while batting .409. |
