Ruiz Jacks 3 into the Stands Sunday, April 27th , 2025 Mario Ruiz went on an explosive hitting spree against the Loganville High School Red Devils at Clayton Valley High School Stadium, launching a trio of blasts to help the Clayton Valley Charter High School Eagles win, 9-3. The first baseman finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 5 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Ruiz said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Loganville High School skipper Robbie Alpers said Ruiz was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Mario Ruiz hit a two-run home run off Lee Patten in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Lee Patten in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jalen Williams in the 8th. This season, Ruiz is hitting .333 with 42 hits, 12 home runs, 22 RBIs, scored 29 runs and played in 33 games. |
