Villa Park High School Halts Criscuolo's Hitting Steak Saturday, April 26th , 2025 Late in the game, all eyes in Villa Park High School Field were on Jake Criscuolo as he stepped into the batter box. His 21-game hitting streak was on the line, and he had a zero in the hit column on the day. Sadly for Criscuolo, it was not meant to be -- the zero would stay and the streak would end. If there was a silver lining for Criscuolo, it was that his Mount Paran Christian High School Eagles won the game anyway, stopping the Villa Park High School Spartans by the score of 3-1. "Winning took some of the disappointment out of it," Criscuolo told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 21 straight games. It's something I will always remember." This year, Criscuolo is batting .386 with 13 home runs. |
