Blast Off! 3 HR for Walsh Tuesday, April 22nd , 2025 Coppell High School Cowboys third baseman Justin Walsh put on a dazzling display of power at Coppell ISD Baseball Complex against the Villa Park High School Spartans. In the 5-1 Cowboys victory, Walsh penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Villa Park High School manager Jim Loring said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 16-year-old had 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Walsh said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Justin Walsh hit a two-run home run off Austin Sternberg in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Austin Sternberg in the 4th and hit a two-run home run off Austin Sternberg in the 6th. This season in 28 games, Walsh has hit at a .333 clip with 37 hits, 24 home runs, 40 RBIs and 28 runs scored. |
